An Application of EDA to the 1980 New York City Marathon (UMAP)

A unit utilizing probability and statistics, applying EDA to the 1980 New York City Marathon. In this module both exploratory and standard methods of data analysis are used to study the 1980 New York City Marathon results. It illustrates Turkey's stem-and-leaf display, five-number summary, fence display, and box plot. The data suggest that speed depends on age and on foreign versus U.S. nationality.
