Show Me Mathematics

Terms frequently used to describe the many mathematical disciplines of today include impressive labels: theoretical, abstract, postulational, demonstrative, formal. Perhaps in such a modern setting, it can be maintained that asserted propositions have been fully demonstrated and that there is no room for further doubt as to rightness. This must be counted as an ultimate achievement in terms of rigorous disposition. Yet a need exists, especially in the student's formative years, for mathematics of a more tangible nature. This need reflects humanity's historical encounter with things mathematical across the centuries. Many learners in time will likely regard elegant proofs with a wary eye. Resultingly, a need is sensed for hard evidence, a solid foundation, and a degree of "real world" support in an encounter with diverse theorems.
